Knucklehead Signs Director Tomas Mankovsky for US Representation

International production house Knucklehead is thrilled to announce the signing of Tomas Mankovsky. A multifaceted, craft-driven director with a strong background in advertising, Tomas joins Knucklehead’s ranks in the US and will remain with Blink for representation in the UK market.
Destined for a creative path from the start, Polish-born Tomas Mankovsky grew up in Sweden and studied Advertising and Design at Beckmans College in Stockholm, where his interest in filmmaking was first piqued. His final exam project, the award-winning short film "Little Big Love," which tells the story of a tiny robot with feelings for an electric kettle, went on to earn him the Young Swedish Design Scholarship and the new talent Chicken Scholarship at the Swedish Golden Eggs.
Tomas’ innovative nature found a new voice when he entered the agency world as a creative at Fallon in London. There he worked with clients such as Sony, Orange, BBC and Cadbury on campaigns that were met with awards from Cannes, D&AD, Clios, Epica, BTAA and the Creative Circle. In 2008, Tomas was named a Creative Futures by Creative Review and was given the prestigious Young Guns title by the Art Directors Club.
In 2009, Tomas effortlessly made the transition to directing full-time. Since then Tomas has built a portfolio that showcases his always inventive approach and emotion-driven storytelling style. When not directing gravity-defying spots for Ikea, Tomas has helmed equally memorable commercials for such brands as Diesel, H&M, Infiniti, O2 and Nissan.
Tomas’ short film projects include the brilliantly imagined stop-motion short film "Sorry I'm Late", as well as the recently released “Grace.” Inspired by mysterious true events that Tomas uncovered in an old newspaper clipping, “Grace” tells the haunting story of two teenagers exploring young love. The piece will make the rounds on the film festival circuit in 2016.
Tomas Mankovsky now brings his standalone talent to London-born production company Knucklehead’s newly launched Los Angeles office, where Executive Producer Cathleen Kisich has been steadily building a fresh US roster alongside established Knucklehead UK directors.
“I’ve been an admirer of Tomas’ beautiful work for some time now,” Kisich remarks. “He brings with him a unique take on strong visuals that both complement and bring something new to the Knucklehead roster. I couldn’t be happier to have him join us here in the States.”
