Pistachios Gangnam Style for the Super Bowl

Paramount Farms nut brand has signed up for Super Bowl XLVII, and will pop their super bowl cherry with a 30 second spot starring none other than Psy, the Korean rapper from the world-hit-wonder of 2012 "Gangnam style", ensuring the ad is dated before the bowl is even over. They commercial was filmed just this week and was directed by Mathew Cullen of Motion Theory. It's the first time that Psy stars in an a American commercial, let alone on the super bowl.

"The Super Bowl is way too big for me," jokes Psy (real name Jai-Sang Park). "I never dreamed of being a singer in America, so I of course never dreamed of being in a Super Bowl ad."

In the ad, Psy wears a pistachio- green suit and will display a special way to crack open pistachios.

Ah, so the punchline is that he opens pistachios Gangnam Style. Please, no. "Open Gangnam Style!" *aargh*

I read something in passing that said he was going to retire this song in the US after having performed it for NYE in NYC. Apparently that's a lie. Damn.
