Shell Fail - Private Artic Launch party goes wrong (Staged video)
The Yes Men strike again, now with this "Shell Fail Private Launch Party" video where a teeny drink serving oil rig malfunctions and sprays a lady down, while she freaks out and sounds like a muppet having multiple orgasms. It's hilarious, it's perfect, and it's staged.
But they did have people going all day already and Reddit was all over it, so Shell might have to clean up this PR-spill either way. The film was seeded by PR company Waignwright Shore - their domain shared their mail servers with the yes men.
Galleria Shopping Mall - Tweet a gift cloud case study - (2012) :90 (Brazil)
It's clever for an open air mall, I'll give them that. But when this case study tells me they "created a completed new choice - a product that only an open air mall could offer..." they're half-fibbing with the "created". They rented a machine/bought a service.
Remember Stuart Semple the artists who covered London in "Happy Clouds", remember the flogo cloud machine? Yes, that's what they used.
KONE - Safety escalator - The little details - (2012) :30 (Finland)
KONE make elevators and escalators and they know full well that most accidents in either are caused by people ignoring the tiny things that cause them. "Finnish elevator company KONE wanted to make a safety campaign about this issue - both internal and external. How do we communicate that without being condescending or preachy?" All I can say after turning into everyones insta-baby-sitter around all escalator is preach on, because by am I ever sick of people not watching their kids, or the tiny things like shoelaces and long flowing dresses as they embark on an escalator ride.

KONE - Safety elevator - The little details - (2012) :30 (Finland)

The Village Voice - New York Types / New York writes itself - (2011)
New York writes itself. But nobody edited this case study down to be SHORTER. STill, the idea produced some really cool looking pieces, and I would love to have one of them on my wall.
The Village Voice was looking for a way to capture the true voice of New Yorkers, and partnered with Leo Burnett New York City to launch "New York Types," a crowd-sourced campaign that took real quotes from New Yorkers and transformed them into print pieces, while collaborating with some of NYC's best letterpress artists.

CLIO Awards - CLIO 2012 Open - (2012) :123 (US)
The CLIOs dazzled a captivated audience of industry heavyweights at the American Museum of Natural History last week. A high energy animated motion graphic and commercial montage from Phoenix kicked off the 2012 award ceremony. This sequence, just one of a handful of videos and graphics created for the look of the event, was part of a comprehensive campaign from Phoenix Media Group that injected new energy into the industry's premier award show.
"We wanted to make the CLIOs bold," stated Phoenix Founder/EP Chris Phoenix. "The awards amount to what is essentially the most important evening of the year for the advertising world, and we wanted a formidable visual aesthetic that matches those of the Grammys and the Academy Awards."

Directed by Ivan Zacharias through DDB London these films will run in 196 independent cinemas across the UK from 25th May and are the latest stage in Volkswagen’s seven-year support of independent cinema.
The 60-second spots open with the line: ‘Some of the most famous moments in cinema were never scripted.’ and then we are shown the real story. Ish.
Matt Lee, Creative Director added ‘From start to finish these films were a labour of love. They’re a fine addition to the campaign.’
Getty Images - From Love to Bingo - (2012) :60 (Brazil)
Almap BBDO went through over 5000 Getty Images to make a one minute story showing a love story where they meet, hold hands, kiss, copulate, procreate, make big family, die.... and then the widower wins big on bingo and has the time of his life, he's on a boat. Party! Wait! What was all that stuff before then? Un-party? Pfft, and y'all call me cynical. Apparently Bingo-win tops love-win. Not buying it.
Lisbon City Hall - Lisbon's Urban Art Gallery / Street art case - (2012)
Lisbon is full of street art, such as the work of Alexandre Farto who was commissioned to do the Levi’s Murals for "Go Forth" in Berlin, and lots of other famous names. Lisbon's citizens don't look at the street art as a part of their historical heritage, Lisbon's City Hall tapped Torke to help them change the perception.

Playboy - Playboy tweetgrid - (Argentina) - (2012)
Popular model and TV-show host (oh, "secretary" is it?) poses naked for Playboy Argentina, while they are wondering how to get more people to follow the playboy twitter account.
Enter tweetgrid, for every 15 retweets of the Playboy tweets mentioning the show, a small part of a larger nude image of her is revealed in the twitter tweetgrid. Now everyone keeps retweeting Playboy until they finally get the whole picture. Clever way to get around the whole "no nudity on twitter" bit too, says I who risks being banned from Google Adsense (again) just for showing you this case study because it has nipples.
NYT battle - Real Life game - NYT.fi
NYT.fi magazines motto is "right here, right now" and they wanted more eyballs on their website. Helsingin Sanomat responded by coming up with a battle concept, three teams lead by celebs had to complete tasks across the city of Helsinki in one day, and points given in the shape of like & shares on facebook were added to their score. Make a bus driver laugh. Breakdance in the central station. Freestyle rap to someone over 50. Collect five kisses from strangers. As the teams sped through their tasks, the clips generated brought the traffic to NYT.fi.

PIMA Air and Space museum - Paper Airplane Project - (2012)
The Pima Air & Space Museum wanted to inspire kids about the science of flight and attract more visitors to the museum. So we built a 45' giant paper airplane, lifted it high into the sky and let it fly. As part of the program, we held a paper airplane contest for kids. The winner of the contest got to help design, name the plane, and attend the private launch. The massive paper plane flew for nearly a mile from an altitude of 2703 feet and reached a speeds of up to 98mph. Afterwards, the museum displayed the plane as a permanent exhibit in the museum. Now, the people at PASM can say they're doing more than just collecting history. They're making it.
Faber Castell - Munch's "The scream" & Van Gogh’s "Terrace Cafe at Night" recreated
Here's somethig that's a lot more complicated than the rather nifty framed Crayola monogram in @adland's image feed - Faber Castell created "the scream" in cut bits of colorful Faber Castell's. nice idea from Ogilvy and Mather Singapore, and I really hope that the original artwork is in Faber Castell's offices somewhere as that must look pretty awesome in real life too.
