Joe's Crab Shack "100% Shore" (2013) :30 (U.S.A.)
Mccann breaks the first work for Joe's Crab Shack since winning the account back in November. My first thought upon viewing it was, I didn't know Instagram made filters for movie cameras. And speaking of social media, judging by the video game app and Facebook page and Pinterest and Twitter page, they really want you to be social.
Sorry, I just got a vision of someone wearing a bib, using their crabby hands dyed burnt sienna from Old Bay seasoning all over their iPhone and felt queasy.
Taco Bell "Grande Papi" (2013) :30 (U.S.A.)
Synopsis: man discovers women like babies. Taco Bell continues its quest to make its food seem more palatable to adults (as opposed to stoners, and college kids and stoners in college) with this "Grande Papi," spot. I kept waiting for the moment the dad was gonna spill the burrito on the baby but apparently he has it on lock.
Bugles "Stack 'ems" (2013) :15 (Canada)
Love the Ikea reference to assembling a tower. And also that you embraced the fact Bugles suck and no one wants to eat them.
Bugles :Dress Ups" (2013) :18 (Canada)
Dress 'Ups? Kinda like Mr. Dressup? Yeah we got that when I lived in America, too. Bugles, you so silly.
Bugles :Chess-Its (2013) :15 (Canada)
More retro silliness from Bugles from that Canadian agency Cossette. Nice title-- guess it's a dig on Cheez-its, eh?
Eh? Geddit? Narf narf narf.
Bugles "The Game You Can Eat" (2013) :30 (Canada)
Cossette taps into late 70's early 80's nostalgia, by trying to make Bugles the game you can eat Emphasis game.
Bugles: The Game That You Eat
Courtesy of Cossette Toronto, this campaign encourages you to treat Bugles as "the game you can eat," which is great because I remember having these when I was a kid and it was kind of like eating salty sawdust. Weird stuff.
M&Ms - Anything For Love - (2013) - 0:30 - (USA)
Aired in first quarter.
Oreo - Library - 2013 - 0:30 (USA)
Aired in first quarter. Oreo's first foray in the Super Bowl.
Doritos - Fashionista Daddy - (2013) :60 (USA)
Yes. The usual nonsens. Because men are funny in dresses, or something.
Doritos - Goat 4 Sale - (2013)
Goats are really annoying.
Wonderful Pistachios - PSY / Crackin' gangnam style / Get Crackin' (2013)
Can anyone say "borrowed interest"? Bah who cares, it's not as if anyone knew the lyrics anyway.
OREO - Whisper Fight - (2013)
Lets have a fight in a library! Over cookies! SHHHHHHH!
Subway - A Story 15 Years In The Making (2013) :30 (USA)
Air time: 4th Quarter
Taco Bell Super Bowl Spot: “Viva Young” 1:00 (USA)
The follow up to the Taco Bell teaser “Grandpa Goes Wild,” is the actual big spot "Viva Young." Via Deutsch.
Or: What happens when a bunch of wacky old people leave their old folks home for a night on the town that includes dancing, getting a tattoo, presumably getting wasted, and ending up at Taco Bell. It’s like an 80’s teen comedy, but with people who are 80.
This will air toward the end of the second quarter but now you’ve seen it.
Warburtons - 'Hughie' - (2013) :30 (UK)
Hughie is that uncle we all know and love, but keep away from sharp objects. He loved crumpets, and there's nothing wrong with that, now is there?
Taco Bell: Grandpa Goes Wild 2013 :53 (U.S.A.)
From the youtube description:
"An 87-year old with an appetite for adventure joyrides through a football field on a souped-up, high-speed mobility scooter. And he's got something even wilder up his old-man sleeve for Game Day."
On a positive note, this effort from Deutsch doesn't feel like a Taco Bell spot. It was shot beautifully and the legal line "Do not do this," is pretty funny.
Red Lobster - Core Menu Server / Hispanic - (2013) :30 (USA)
For 2013 and beyond, Red Lobster looked to develop a strategy to win with Hispanics. The restaurant, typically known to the market for high-quality seafood was simply not in their consideration due to premium price perceptions.
To formally introduce the brand to the market and promote the new core menu, Wing developed a new Spanish tagline, “Disfruta un Mar de Sabores (Enjoy a Sea of Flavors),” and launched the brand's first Spanish language campaign featuring Red Lobster's new 15 under $15 core menu. Similarly to the General Market's Real Stories campaign, the spot heroes a Spanish-speaking server and a Hispanic family enjoying a meal at Red Lobster.
