Shaq pitches digital content ideas to the DCNF 2010
Shaq’s been doing a lot of thinking about how he can spread his brand online. So much that when he pitches his ideas to Digitas’ upcoming third annual Digital Content NewFront event he basically takes over the entire ad and you'll forget what it's really about. Shaqtastic indeed.
The event is taking place on Wednesday, June 9 at the Skylight Soho from 12-6pm. This year’s agenda includes innovators and new players with business models who will be joined by some familiar faces: Teri Hatcher, Pete Wentz, Arianna Huffington, Jason Priestly, Kevin Pollak, Howard Friedman (SVP, Kraft), Ben Silverman, Seth Green and Amy Brenneman.
Ciroc - Aziz Ansari vs Diddy Smooth-off
They're smooth. So smooth that they're both nominated to the Smoothest Man of the Year award. Of course they'll only drink Ciroc's "Perfectly Smooth" vodka. So smooth you don't even sneeze. Now that's smooth.
Adidas - Star Wars Cantina 2010
In the Star Wars cantina scene, we see David Beckham, Daft Punk, Snoop Dogg being badass as is his thang, Franz Beckenbauer, Noel Gallagher, Ian Brown, Ciara, Jay Baruchel, and DJ Neil Armstrong - among your usual suspects.
Then the tagline: Celebrate originality. Aaaarrrgh.
UN World - PSA (2010)
The 38th annual United Nations World Environment Day, on Saturday, June 5th, was highlighted by an event which took place in Rwanda City, Rwanda the same day. Nice Shoes helped spread the word about the global event with design, VFX and color-grading work on an upbeat PSA. Collaborating once again with director Bobby Sheehan of Working Pictures on this direct-to-client project, Nice Shoes CD Aron Baxter and Design Director Jay Sienkwicz acted as co- creative leads for the design and visual effects, while Jim Collins provided 3D artistry and Ron Sudul handled color grading.
Samsung - Wait 'Til You See My Smile
Cutters Editor Eric Houtz collaborates with Smuggler's The Guard Brothers on the latest spot for Samsung, featuring Alicia Keys and her new song "Wait Til You See My Smile". The spot emphasizes the Samsung Dual View where a fan dreams of taking the stage with Alicia Keys and shares digital camera space with the pop singer by utilizing the front and back view camera feature. Audio was provided by Cutters’ sister company Another Country.
Schweppes - Nicole Kidman romance in India (2010) :60 (France)
This Schweppes ad features Nicole Kidman and little Latika from Slumdog millionaire. I'm too busy being grossed out by the heavy sound of gulping and the way Nicole wraps her entire mouth around the bottle to recall what it was that I was supposed to expect, YMMV.

The game within the game shows how the players are preoccupied with generating ideas for refresheverything.com

Ok, so perhaps all the ideas aren't that great.
MTV - The End Begins - 2010 - US
This promo was created to promote the final season of The Hills. We shot with the cast on a blue screen and created all of the backgrounds in flame using 2D and 3D imagery.

Lipton Ice Tea - Tokyo Hotel - (2010) :90
With a bit of a nod* to the "unexpected actor in suit dances in hotel" Fat Boy Slim/ Spike Jonze / Christopher Walken video, Hugh Jackman has a sip of ice tea and then promptly gets his groove on. He twirls and swings showing off his Broadway musical skills, even swinging two girls on each arm, and this is supposed to sell something but I forget what. But I am thirsty for that tall glass of handsome man who can dance. That's what its selling right? I better watch it again. I'll let you know on the 1000th viewing what I want to buy.
* not as big of a nod as the Vasakronan ad which pretty much used the 'weapon of choice' video as their storyboard.
Sony - Auto Tune the Panel / Auto-tune the ad - "Panel of experts"
Forget "auto tune the news" here Sony and 180 LA take it one step further, and auto-tune the ad. This was done by the auto-tune the news guys, as they edited stuff from the Sony Electronics 6-spot national “Panel of Experts” campaign together to make this mix.
Tribeca Film Festival - Here comes the neighborhood - (2010) :60
If you won't come to the Tribeca film festival, they'd have to bring it to you. Robert de Niro wouldn't stand for it. This is how the Tribeca Film Festival and David Gray say thanks for coming, so they didn't have to roll the parking attendant in bubble wrap.
Nike Mercurial Vapor Superfly II - Mechanical Pitch - (2010) :60
Zlatan Ibrahimovic battles it out on a mechanical pitch that changes the climate, testing Zlatan's and the Mercurial Vapor Superfly II's abilities to adapt fast t changing conditions. Unfazed by the changes, since he's got the Nike SENSE adaptive traction super studs, Zlatan makes a goal anyway right before the goal vanishes from the pitch.
Lady Gaga - Telephone ft. Beyoncé - (2010) 9:32
Jonas Åkerlund and Lady Gaga got together again for this video Telephone, featuring Beyoncé - where Gaga prances about in a womans prison sporting insane cigarette sunglasses. Once her love Beyoncé bails her out, they go on a homicide spree in their pussy mobile. There's plenty of product placement going on in this video, even for the dating site Plenty Of Fish where the officer logs in as MissOfficer if you fancy a tough broad. In the end, fashion wins... or does it?

Also notice: When Beyoncé kills her presumed boyfriend, she tops it off by flipping up the same style sunglasses Gaga wore in the Åkerlund directed Paparazzi video. Does that mean that she too is now an Illuminati Puppet brainwashed to kill? (see also part 2 of that hilarious idea). Why yes of course, she's been one since her rebirth as Sasha Fierce.
