You know how kids keep asking questions? Well the Kia Sorento CUV has an answer for everything, or rather dad does as the car is the subject of all the questions. I just wish they had thrown in one of the more difficult ones like "why is mom in the trunk"?

No one cares about awards in advertising except people who work in advertising.

Taco Bell "Grande Papi" (2013) :30 (U.S.A.)

Synopsis: man discovers women like babies. Taco Bell continues its quest to make its food seem more palatable to adults (as opposed to stoners, and college kids and stoners in college) with this "Grande Papi," spot. I kept waiting for the moment the dad was gonna spill the burrito on the baby but apparently he has it on lock.

Sneaky dad does not want to let his kid know where "his" pad is. Probably because it's not his.

A young girl ponders how one knows who is is the right man to marry, and asks her mother, who is a little too helpful with her informative reply.

Orbit - The Prom Date - (2010) 5:17 (USA)

Is this a five minute skit with product placement or a really long unfunny commercial?

Jason Bateman and Will Arnett play dad and prom-date from hell/teacher respectively. It starts out lukewarm and recognisable, the parents fuss as the "just legal" daughter is getting ready for her senior prom. Enter the date from hell, who is also her social studies teacher. Along comes Orbit and cleans things up. Orbit might be able to clean the dirtiest of mouths, but I'm pretty sure this won't be cleaning up at the awards.

Foxtel - Muktitasking - (2010) :30

In gender-fairness, even if this seems like yet another case of doofus-dad in advertising, the missus is equally thick. Television for geniuses, indeed.

Microsoft Windows 7 - Widmark / Parental controls - (2009) :30 (USA)

Widmark wanted control. Windows 7 put the power back in his hands. That's how they described this ad but I swear that guy introduces himself as Woody. Is Woody a nickname for Widmark? I always thought it was short for Woodrow.

Ronald McDonald House - Christpher Nehls - (2009) 0:30 (USA)

Kmart - Short Shorts (2006) :15 (USA)

McDonalds - Curfew (1999) - 0:30 (USA)

McDonald's - My First Ride (1991) - 0:30 (USA)

Atari - Have you played Atari today? (1982) :30 (USA)

"Have you played Atari today?" no, and I don't love my Toyota either.

Stovetop Stuffing - Pork Stuffing as seen on TV - (1976) :30 (USA)

It's the prototype of doofus-dad, as this oneis tempted by a TV commercial for food that his missus is already making in the nearby kitchen.
