St. George Bank really loves its customers. Newly appointed Saatchi and Saatchi set out to demonstrate this with a rebrand.
Nothing says rebrand like a little kid playing pretend. Because there's a little dragon in all of us.
"...yeah, dude, srsly..."
Oh sure, it's the grand idea paired with the true to war-movie form storytelling, and there's brilliance in the kid casting, but none of this would be if it hadn't been for a client who agreed to do something.. you know.. for the kids. Offspring just watched this ad over and over again. She wants an epic treehouse. Wants. Escape Pod says it was pure childish joy to shoot this ad.

The concept behind the acclaimed spec spot Sasha was a daring one: capture in less than two minutes the imaginative and mischievous life of one joyful little girl. LA-based jumP Editor Nick Lofting sifted through several hours of footage to gather a few key moments, expressions, bits of dialogue, and impishness, transforming what could have been a short sketch into a deep, gentle narrative that leaves viewers feeling both connected with Sasha and inspired to imagine the rest of her life.
So, how does one go about illustrating the inner life of an unusually creative child? Working with @radical.media Director Brett Froomer - whose notable career is highlighted by memorable commercial campaigns for brands such as Citgo, US Army, Kodak, Prudential and PDFA as well as five successful personal studies, Lofting pored over hours of play and interviews with Sasha, her parents, and her two sisters.
Two jaw-dropping spots for the 2010 Newport Beach Film Festival were recently created by ad agency RPA and the standout Tool of North America duo of Director Erich Joiner and two-time Academy Award®-winning DP Robert Richardson (Inglourious Basterds, Shutter Island, Kill Bill: Vol. 1 & 2). Also recruited was Lost Planet Editor Hank Corwin (Natural Born Killers, JFK).
