Volkswagen / VW Jetta - Passing Lane - (2013) :30 (USA)
What's worse than being stuck behind a motorhome on a mountain road?
Air New Zealand - The Bear Essentials of Safety - (2013)
TV's beloved outdoorsman, Bear Grylls, appears here in "the first ever"* flight safety video that's been filmed outside, in the glorious NZ countryside, to be specific.
But wait, there's more. There's a sweepstakes.
Carefully watch “The Bear Essentials of Safety”, then enter for a chance to win The Great Kiwi Bucket List: a trip for two from anywhere in the world to New Zealand. To enter, count how many scenes the Moa (the giant black bird) appears in before his true character is 'revealed'. Trip includes kayaking at Cathedral Cove, bungee jumps at Skipper Canyon, swimming with dolphins in Doubtful Sound, watching the first world's first sunrise of a new day at Wainui Beach and more.

STORY’s Blair Hayes Captures the Real Hawaii in New Tourism Campaign
STORY’s Blair Hayes has directed a new series of ads for the Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau that reveal the island paradise from an unusual point of view: a visitor’s. Conceived by Honolulu agency MVNP, the spots avoid the expected and stereotypical imagery that's often featured in travel advertising and instead seek to capture the essence of what it’s actually like to be there. Shot in as loose, improvisatory manner, the spots have the warmth of a home movie and focus on what an island vacation is really all about: having fun.
Booking.com - Booking Yeah - (2013)
"This vacation has been a year in the planning and here you are, standing, nay staring down your dream. The rest of your holiday hinges on the moment you walk through that door. The door opens.. you hold your breath... and then you realize. You got it right. You got it booking right".
Yes kids, it's an entire spot built on the idea that booking sorta sounds like fucking and har har, isn't that hilarious?
Motorola - Projections - (2012) :30 (USA)
Goodby brings us the latest work for the Droid Razr. While, "content in the palm of your hand," is very familiar, it looks nice. And the Rango borrowed interest is cute, too.
It's nicely shot and beautiful. Still, I can't help but feel like this is a warmed over Sprint campaign, circa 2008 when all the mobile phones were starting to offer this benefit. It's hard to get enthusiastic about content on your mobile at this point in time.
We don't just expect it at this point, but take it for granted.
At least it looks nice.
Nelonen / Channel 4 - Talent Finland - The land of a thousand talents - (2011) :45 (Finland)
You've heard of a land of a thousand lakes, I'm sure. So when 358 Helsinki were tasked with creating the promo or "Finland's got talent" they had to riff on that. Riff. Get it?
C-Track - Always Visible - (2011) :45 sec (South Africa)
With C-Track vehicle tracking, your car is always visible, nothing obscures it from c-track. Not bridges, trees, barrier, walls or anything else. 30 second edit available under link.
C-Track - Always Visible - (2011) :30 short ver. (South Africa)
Docomo - Trees / Forest / Touchwood SH-08C - (2011)
The ambient sound of the forest, the patiently built and carefully crafted musical staircase, the song played by the ball dropping on wood - all to promote the Touchwood SH-08C . If you need a bit of serene nature in your noisy urban city life, this phone wants you to adopt it.
TC Bank - Dream Rangers - (2011) 3:00 (Taiwan)
Forget selling banks with the "for all your roast beef needs" tired old phrases, in Taiwan they'll tug at your heartstrings hard to convince you that their bank is the right choice. Because what is banking? It's saving money for a rainy day, borrowing money for something you need, and in this case it's for that last epic motorcycle road trip across Taiwan, just so you can hang with the gang at beach like you did so long ago.
Edit: I posted this under "Thailand" at first, when the agency credits reads "Taiwan". Man, I need coffee. My bad!
KEB skincare - Natural Swedish Beauty - (2011)
In an apparent homage to Dove Evolution, KEB skincare wants to remind everyone that for a natural Swedish beauty, their skincare products are the best. Refreshingly clean, and the homage works well. The ad is created by the founder of KEB Daniel Sand together with the director if photography Johan Annerfelt at production company Rivera.
Scientology - Invitation to Freedom
The Church of Scientology sell themselves with something that feels a bit like an old music video. "Invitation to Freedom" has guitars, crescendos and the promise that we are not mortal.
The Weather Network - Tofino - (2010) Canada
The four spots, Tofino, Calgary, Saskatoon and Winnipeg, feature the same voice over but different glorious imagery and a different end tag.
The spots are currently on air in western Canada and the agency is working on an online tool that allows users to upload their own end video clip or still. The app will then seamlessly edit the shot into the video and change the VO to personalize it so it can be shared with friends and family.

Tropicana - DJ - (2010) :30 (UK)
RIDEOUT WAKES UP SAN FRANCISCO WITH TROPICANA SPOT
Working in partnership with RSA Films London, Crossroads Director Stuart Rideout harnesses the unique aesthetic of San Francisco to create a memorable visual story for Tropicana via DDB London. DJ is a beautiful montage of a West Coast weekday morning, following the journey of a morning talk-show deejay as he navigates the city's soaring bridges, meandering hilly streets, and towering skyscrapers on his daily journey to work. As an invigorated troupe of commuters sweeps through the diners, streetcars, and parks of the iconic city - a golden Tropicana invariably by their side - the deejay narrates the 7:00 a.m. sunshine, promising that "today is going to be a beautiful day."
