No one cares about awards in advertising except people who work in advertising.

Audi - Prom (Worth It) - Big Game Commercial

The young man is hesitant. Why go to the prom alone? His mother reassures him. As he heads toward the door, apprehensive and discouraged, his father tosses him the keys to an all-new 2013 Audi S6. And then...

Because you see, once you have the right car, you have all the confidence in the world. Even if it gets you a black eye in the end. Audi is bravery-steroids.

And because no super bowl spot can be without a hashtag these days, this one has #braverywins. But #nobodycares.

The spot features the upcoming single "Can't Win Em Al" by Hanni El Khatib, from his highly anticipated second album, Head in the Dirt, out April 30, 2013. The album is produced by Dan Auerbach. .

The Partnership at Drugfree.org - Typical Conversation - (2011)

Typical Conversation dispenses with a script to show how futile and predictable I-know-you're-doing-drugs conversations can be. When a daughter returns home, she finds her mother waiting for her in the foyer. "Awkward confrontational accusation," the mother bellows, holding up a drug-stocked plastic bag. "Automatic denial," shrieks the daughter. They trade verbal blows: mother - "Skeptical response"; daughter - "Phony excuse you'll see right through"; mother - "Angry, irrational statement I'll regret later"; daughter - "Fake emotional whimper." "Desperate, confused empty threat," the mother screams finally, as her daughter storms away.

Folkpartiet - School - valfilm 2010

Folkpartiet (The liberal party) show a classroom of today, and as we pan out the noise and bustle from rowdy students gets worse as we get the further away from the teacher. One girl, clearly frustrated by not being able to hear what the teacher is saying, drop her pencil and sighs. The promise: "Peace/calm so you can concentrate in school." Better education has long been a staple promise of Folkpartiet.

SocialDemokraterna - Young people want in - Election (2010)

Here's the TV commercial for the Social Democrats in Sweden's election 2010. It depicts the business hubub of swapping cards and having meetings, the action in an operating room, the firemen off to quell a fire ... and in each scene a bored looking teenager still in their jammies shuffling along with the group. "207000 young people want to join in" the super reads "We can't wait. Social Democrats"

There's a lot of unemployment for young people in Sweden, so this ad flirts directly with them (and possibly their parents who want them out of the house already).

Other Side - I LUV Justin Bieber - (2010)

Phoenix Ogilvy presents the other side of the agency at the Barefoot Gallery in Colombo on the 28th & 29th of August 2010.

It's a celebration of out-of-the-box installations, sculptures, paintings & photography.

LionsGate - The Last Exorcism on Chatroulette

LionsGate know exactly who might enjoy watching a freaky movie about exorcisms, teenage guys between 15 and 19. Where are all these dudes? They're on Chatroulette trying to score a bit of skin. Well then, what's the plan LionsGate? Tease them with the possibility of some skin and then scare the bejesus out of them.

Well done. This, and that Chatroulette AIDS ad we showed you a few months back are good examples of clever viral ads using Chatroulette's audience / expectations.

Now, who's up for taking me to an exorcism movie? I wanna be scared too!

Universalmobile.fr - Jeunes et Limités, une vraie vie de chien (2010)

Here's a new video directed by Young and Limited Riad Sattouf, music composed by Naive New Beaters. I can't understand a lick of what they're singing but I get behind every one of them, cuz they're kick-ass and the early-Ramones lookaliker has it down.

Find the right plan for you from UniversalMobile.fr and more on Universal.Music.Mobile Facebook page and you can follow them on twitter at @umusicmobile

Miljöpartiet - Val 2010 / Doing something green / Swedish Election ad

As I told readers of brandflakes, political commercials aren't as widespread around these parts as they are in the US. We don't have coroners "Igor" ads when they're fighting for re-elaction, nor do we get Mayor candidates doing the reverse reading trick in their ads.

We do get cinema ads, and this year all parties have decided to do a little bit of TV. Miljöpartiet (the green party) doesn't have a huge budget, and hope this ad will spread virally. In it the party leader VO's a simple statement: All around us are people who do things for the environment. Isn't it time we got a government who did the same?
Since we don't have a two-party system, the green party would join a coalition with the Social democrats and the Left Party (formerly known as the communist party), and not all environmentally conscious people like that combination, lovingly dubbed in the press "the red-green mess".

Still, pretty understated for a political ad, right?

Famous Footwear - Back to School / Make today famous (2010) :30 (USA)

Check out the behind the scenes on how this ad was made.

Famous Footwear, by Campbell Mithun - Back to School (2010) - behind the scenes

Campbell Mithun's fast-paced back-to-school ads for Famous Footwear use a time-slice filming technique to freeze everyday teen moments of fun. New to this mid-tier, shoe-retailer category, the process involves using a 20-camera rig (all cameras snap simultaneously) and Canon 5D camera.

You can view the finished ad here Famous Footwear - Back To School / Make today famous

7UP – "Bubbles” (2010) :60 (China)

Playing on the refreshing bost one gets from the bubbles in 7up (I guess), BBDO / CNUAC Shanghai shows an entire city getting all bubbly whenever someone opens a bottle.

Orbit - The Prom Date - (2010) 5:17 (USA)

Is this a five minute skit with product placement or a really long unfunny commercial?

Jason Bateman and Will Arnett play dad and prom-date from hell/teacher respectively. It starts out lukewarm and recognisable, the parents fuss as the "just legal" daughter is getting ready for her senior prom. Enter the date from hell, who is also her social studies teacher. Along comes Orbit and cleans things up. Orbit might be able to clean the dirtiest of mouths, but I'm pretty sure this won't be cleaning up at the awards.

Apartheid Museum - Joe Slovo - (2010) :45

Sorry to get distracted here, but that hair is awesome. Perhaps spending less time on the outside of the head would be a good idea....

Apartheid Museum - Steve Biko - (2010) :45

Perhaps "Who inspired dozens of hit songs after his death" would have worked on this gal? No, probably not. Sigh.

Apartheid Museum - Oliver Tambo - (2010) :45

"That's roundhouse Chuck Norris!"

Apartheid Museum - Chief Albert Luthuli 2 - (2010) :45

Two girls have no idea, guess "mandela"
