Fredrik Callinggard shot this Volvo spot in the fjordland of Norway.

Fredrik Callinggard, represented in the United States by Bully Pictures, has directed a new, international campaign for Volvo re-launching its mid-sized, luxury, crossover SUV the XC90. Filmed in Norway’s spectacular fjordlands, the 60-second launch spot offers a rich and deeply affecting montage of landscape imagery and scenes of families traveling and enjoying life. Farmlands populated by ancient wood structures, quaint hamlets, gorgeous beaches and snow-swept mountains, all appearing under a cool autumn chill, float by as a young girl sweetly recites the words of “He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands.”

"Just one more time, pleeeeeaaaaaase" nags the young boy as grandpa cooly waits it out. His magic trick is special, you see. And it works with Widerøe. They fly all over Norway. All the time. What a sweet little slice of life.

Woman wakes up after a wild night in Vegas (we presume) and finds that she's married to George Clooney. Yeah, that'll happen. Can someone explain the horse-head?

I can't name what my favorite thing is about this ad, the jab at the silly fluffy showergels ads talking about aromatherapy, the extended view of a naked guys ass, or the frank truth of what it really looks like when men (and women) actually shower. This is what it's really like mate, not so ad-pretty but it gets you clean. Oh, you missed some lint in that navel by the way.

A punkish girl travels to a wedding, an older man travels to a date, a young boy runs from his tormentors as he travels to school, an older couple are going for gasoline... The bus will take you there, wherever there is.

Opera have the stereotype Norwegian guys Odd and Even do their own speed test, which like the Google Chrome speed test uses strange elaborate contraptions and potatoes.

Ah, Norway. The north that inspired Tolkien. The land of the Vikings, trolls and gods. Land of steep mountains, deep fjords, spontaneous bustsing fires and, uh, BBQ. I'm hungry.

Here's a twist on the disposable man in advertising... Open on a couple breaking up.... The woman however, knows how to recycle men! Just "Rinse, fold and stack". Ouch.

Nice lottery ad, where the dream isn't on how to spend the money, rather on how to tell the wife.

This one might be the most successful ad of the bunch, hot couple in love can't keep their hands off each other - which alerts the stork...

Harking back to the eighties here, this baby-free diaper ad shows the ending of sex in a car.

This is the beginning of one helluva refreshing campaign for diapers: No shots of blue liquid, no shots of diapered bums, heck not even a baby in sight. For extra stand-outness (and to keep the surprise, of course) they've even shot each ad quite differently, this particular ménage à trois scenario is a black and white nod to old films.

A young boy discovers kissing, and decides to share his newfound knowledge.

The onlookers cheer her on: "Are you going to jump or what?" - and this mild mannered housewife puls off one crazy house-jump trick to impress.
