What is scary? Face to face with a hippo, Polar Bear or rabid mammal of the fury type. The clown in this ad is just creepy. All clowns are creepy. These credit score ads are scary. I found a letter from mortgage company from 2011. The fine print on the data mining will freak anyone out. Remember, TANSTAFL
I was tricked! Apps? Without doubt it is funny until the Bruce Willis action movie https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Live_Free_or_Die_Hard cut scenes to a final pointless bullshit reference to apps.
Thank you Apple for creating the most inefficient way to get anything done on a computer. My HTC, iPad, Kindle, and my wife's box of Samsung thingys all are similar at the UI level. But I have 100 apps installed on my mobile just to get things done; My browser is/was/has been stripped down to it's knickers and forced to tattoo Apple mark on forehead. (I almost said it Mr. Circumcised.)
(Pinching bridge of nose) Apps have made me pull hair out -- It's like some nightmare from the late 1970's -- racks upon racks of boxes of FORTRAN utilities, punched cards. There was a sign (I was told it was not in safety book - remove it ) on my Data General, "No candles in this room if power failure."
The whole thing about the ashes is FUBR when I first heard about. SOME thumb off the rule, I've stood knee deep in river water while Amazing Grace is sung and ashes-to-ashes thing is done. Big f'ing deal some phosphates in the water. Oh, look isn't that the new USCG attack river boat over there? No, not by the tourists, by the oil refinery. ( name of is withheld)
Since my TV is always muted unless I see an ad that I want to hear I couldn't figure out why wife was singing S&G while baseball is on . Duh, ad sing-a-long. Some of these ads are ok, at least it's not slamming beer in your face like that blue al-loom-MEN-inum can ad does.
Yep, the stock, this is America scenes, are due for a makeover
Had to see what the fuss was about in April 2005. Never give a government employee a reason to soapbox when budget review is hanging over their head.
Seems batshit crazy to have 24 hour, millisecond response when something is not felling right -- the feds included. (insert Tim Minchin you tube video "Prejudice" Subtitle ginger song by me)
What I don't get is salt on ice cream. Wife loves salty flavors.
I'm not smart enough to speak on language and product names -- You know how many $ goes down the drain global proofing that brand new Camay Toyota car. Sorry Procter & Gamble.
The streaming company Studio71 only puts quality content by independent artists and does some work growing class short form. Goggle partners was a toss everything at people and see what happens -- very hands off. By tossing the low number if views under the bus, not pay, google thinks it can get back the % of quality that video producers that walked. I don't think google can. There is a thing called agent that google doesn't understand.
http://www.studio71.com/us/ scared google & youtube
I think Google/Youtube has figured out OTT wants only high quality short form creators with verifiable views. A Keynote last week for #MIPtv Reza Izad, CEO, Studio 71, USA pointed out that short form and long form digital products do coexist within Studio71. I believe this statement by Studio71 is part of the why,
Studio71’s 1200 channels drive six billion monthly views, offer four times the average channel engagement and represent 19 percent of Google Preferred inventory.
The Keynote speaker has much to say on advertisers and brands interacting with creators so the message is delivered the way it was meant to be. The creators benefit by making more money and worldwide exposure. I started getting the feeling , Record Label Video plus, but different.
I can't think of another reason for the change.
Caught me trying to escape Facebook. The ad probably got its start trying to pull off Coke feel good theme for all I know. If I have to watch it again it gets muted. I can say it looks like a stage play rehearsal.
I had to look up cause-washing [hyphen is okay] and read that soft drink companies are good at this.
PETA creeps into the brain of well-meaning people. I won't go on a rant here but I have noticed a trend in ads requesting a donation -- $19USD monthly. Every time I see that one dollar short of a $20 bill I think, sketchy charity. I really don't know if $19 times 12 = $228 is a tipping point; $20 times 12 = $240 looks like an IRS audit amount. I'm not a lawyer/CPA so Google why $19 is the magic number to piss away.
EDIT: This interview has more on PETA vs Humane Watch : http://www.agweb.com/article/humane-watch-counters-hsus-in-super-bowl-ad-naa-ashley-davenport/
The story is a hankie moment. Took me a minute to realize it is as manipulative as those ads showing mistreated cats and dogs. I won't debate the "Trump Wall" or the role of undocumented workers in construction/landscaping businesses. The wall thing is politics. Day labor system that abuses Illegal workers -- I have no facts so I have no say.
My opinion: 84 Lumber is making a recognition play. Home Depot and Lowe's have most of the market while 84 Lumber is closing some stores. Most Do-It-Yourself customers are not bulk material buyers such as home builders which where 84 Lumber's customer. "Joe's Custom Shacks" isn't enough to keep 84 Lumber going, it needs DIY traffic. Lowe's can sell me an entire kitchen makeover to wife's spec (me as labor except for electric work 'cause of building code law), 84 Lumber cannot.
Can't say the pitch is a fail. Can't say the pitch will do 84 Lumber any good. Most folks will forget this by spring cleaning.

Well, surprise me font designer. I thought I was looking at something from the movie Arrival. The beings are called Hexapods, fonts ..<->words<-> .. talking in their environment looks like circles and loops. The language of the hexapod is nonlinear because they experience life nonlinear. It's quite pretty
