Fred and Farid Group, Paris, has just launched a new advertising agency, called Hello Sunshine. Hello Sunshine is led by ex‐Group Executive Planning Director of Ogilvy Singapore, Gwen Raillard, and Singaporean artist, Dawn Ng. Uniquely, Hello Sunshine is conceived as a brand in and of itself, as it is a value‐led agency based on a single, powerful notion that “Optimism is what drives successful brands and popular culture.” To quote Gwen, “Hello Sunshine is an agency that understands the darker the times, the greater the desire for optimism. ”

You know Gwen
 Raillard and Dawn
Ng

 - Dawn has the sense to stick to the sunshine theme with her name, Gwen might have to catch up - they've been spotted at Mother, London, BBH and Ogilvy before this. Dawn is also a big name in the Singapore art scene, as she has had her work chosen for the Singapore

Other agencies with sunny outlooks, Sunshine the brand consultancy launched with Chris Jaques in 2008 and 72 and Sunny of course, but Sunshine launched with a big "hello sunshine" fanfare. Thanks Rob Campbell.

I might make fun of all the Agency of the Future talk. But one thing I have noticed is new Agencies tend to Brand themselves. The old School agencys and even CP+B are not brands. They are names. Boring names at that. How can you choose from all the boring agency names that all sound the same. But the newer Agencies try to give you a feeling of what they are about from their name and persona.

That's true, but then some brand and burn.

I think that's called "brandishing", dear.

Brand and Burn is good as long as it isn't us! ;-)
