Filmworkers Nashville Adds Colorist Jimmy Cadenas

Young colorist brings experience with Baselight grading system and a credit list that includes Bridgestone, Southwest Airlines, and McDonald’s.

NASHVILLE— In the first step in a new effort to grow and expand services, Filmworkers, Nashville, has added Jimmy Cadenas as Senior Colorist. Cadenas spent the past seven years at Filmworkers’ facilities in Chicago and Dallas where he learned his craft from some of the industry’s top colorists, and worked on projects ranging from national television commercials to music videos and feature films.

Cadenas has extensive experience with the Baselight color grading system used at Filmworkers’ Chicago, Dallas and Nashville facilities, and in grading media from the latest digital camera systems. He recently served as colorist for The Revenge of the Great Camera Shootout 2012, a documentary and research project that compared cameras made by Arri, Sony, Canon, Red, Panasonic and Apple. His recent credits also include work for Bridgestone, Southwest Airlines, and Travelocity, as well as the R. Kelly video Share My Love.

“Jimmy is an exceptionally talented young colorist. He is an expert in the latest digital formats and brings new energy to the Nashville market,” said Filmworkers President Reid Brody. “We’ve been very impressed with how quickly he has developed into a top colorist. He has had great chemistry with agency teams in Chicago and Dallas, and we can’t wait to introduce him to our Nashville clients.”

A graduate of Columbia College, Cadenas began his career as an assistant colorist at Filmworkers’ Chicago facility in 2005. He worked on commercials for such brands as McDonald’s and Sears. In 2008, he was promoted to colorist and relocated to Dallas.

Cadenas joins a creative team at Filmworkers Nashville that also includes Adam Little, (editor) and Tim Moore, (editor and visual effects artist).
Cadenas looks forward to working with advertising agencies, production companies, and others in Nashville and throughout the region. “I am excited to join the team of artists at Filmworkers Nashville,” he said. “This market is young and hip and offers great opportunities for artists seeking to do exciting, creative work.”
