In this installment for Ban Bossy, we have young girls telling us how they are discouraged from leading by words. At a certain age, they stop being assertive, they stop raising their hands in class... They stop ... fulfilling their potential. That this introverted time coincides with the early stages of puberty, as girls grow into women in a patriarchal society is not a coincidence. Reaction to these spots have ranged from stunned to misunderstood. "Are they seriously expecting us to a BAN a word? That's freedom of speech!" Oh how this fails to enlighten those who need to be enlightened, preaching to the converted will not get more people in your congregations seats.
