Yo quiero Taco Bell dog is dead at 15.

Bow your heads, another advertising icon has kicked the bucket, or pissed on his last lamppost. Yes, the "Taco Bell dog", Gidget, is dead at the grand old age of 15. It was a stroke that got Gidget in the end.

Gidget is most famous for her roles as the Yo quiero Taco Bell dog, however she even made it to Hollywood starring as Bruiser's mom in Legally Blonde 2.
msnbc.com has more;

Other than a few other small cameos, Gidget's working life didn't continue much beyond her Taco Bell legacy. But she left quite an impression. "One time, I kid you not, she actually pushed her stand-in out of the way because he was still there when she arrived on set," Chipperton recalled with a laugh. "Gidget always knew where the camera was."

I once knew an exotic dancer*, famous for her fire-spitting strip (and that fire is not shot out from her mouth) who once claimed to be the girl responsible for giving the ad-men behind the Taco-bell dog this idea. She had introduced the ad-guys to her friend who had a dog just like that, which they fell in love with instantly, saying things like "we should totally put this dog in ads". Knowing ad men's affinity for creative people in all walks of life (admit it it, her strip-idea is creative), I kind of believe it.

*Yes, I'm talking about Otter, the legendary strip club genius. She ain't your run of the mill dancer no siree.
