Dogboy directs spots with stories behind them

Dogboy of The Pound has directed two spots with interesting tales.

The first is "McCoy" for Australia Fresh, written and art directed by Ben Birchall and Shane Dawson of The Campaign Palace/Red Cell.

McCoy is played by Ron Moss from The Bold And The Beautiful. Legendary cinematographer Keith Wagstaff shot and also appears in this commercial (the old guy sharpening his axe). Keith also shot the film that the commercial is referencing -The Man From Snowy River (1982) as well as appearing in a Kodak TVC in the 80's where he begins his testimonial with the line "I'm the man that shot The Man From Snowy River". The commercial picked up awards for both direction and cinematography at the recent MADC awards in Melbourne.

The other spot, "World's Unluckiest Man" for Doritios was written and art directed by Justine Armour/Rohan Young of Clemenger BBDO.

It is based on the true story of Frano Selak. Filmed at his home in Croatia Frano Selak recounts his unfortunate story of his life that has been filled with an amazing series of mishaps including everything from being sucked out of a faulty exit on a plane to suffering hypothermia after a train he was on was derailed and plunged into a frozen river. On his way home from the first day of the shoot the car he was driving hit a deer.
