Jim Elliott Named Chief Creative Officer Of Young & Rubicam New York

Tony Granger, Global Chief Creative Officer of WPP’s Young & Rubicam, and Jane Barratt, President of Y&RNY, announced today that Jim Elliott has been appointed Chief Creative Officer of the agency’s New York office. Starting his new position in early June, Elliott will be responsible for overseeing the agency’s creative direction and all work for its clients, which include Land Rover, Campbell’s, Dell, LG, Dannon, Fisher-Price, the NHL, UNCF, Virgin Atlantic and Xerox.

A passionate and highly awarded leader, Elliott joins Y&RNY from Goodby, Silverstein & Partners in San Francisco where he spent the past five years, serving most recently as Group Creative Director, working on key clients that include Haagen-Dazs, Hyundai, Denny’s, HP, Netflix, Yahoo! and, most recently, part of the team that landed the Sonic Drive-In chain.

“Bringing Jim on board as CCO is a key part of our continued evolution for our New York office,” said Granger. “Jim is a fantastic creative leader, who enjoys drawing the best out of his teams. We’re excited he’s joining ours.”

"New York has made tremendous strides creatively, and we are ready to build on our momentum," said Jane Barratt. "Jim has both the creativity and the character to motivate our people, connect with our clients and their customers, and help drive innovation through our culture. I am truly looking forward to our partnership," she added.

Elliott’s awards include Cannes, D&AD, One Show, CLIO, Kellys, Andy’s and the Effies. His work for both Nike and Häagen-Dazs has earned the honor of being on permanent display at the Museum of Modern Art. And his "Help the Honey Bees" campaign won the first-ever Green Pencil awarded by the One Club.

Prior to Goodby, Elliott served as Creative Director and Partner at Cole & Weber United in Seattle, Washington. Elliott came to Cole & Weber from Mullen Advertising. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Pennsylvania.

Taking the reins at Y&RNY is a huge and exciting opportunity,” said Elliott. “I’m looking forward to working with Tony and Jane. Y&R is an amazing brand with a longstanding history of doing great work. There’s a hunger and energy about the place right now that seems explosive. I’m excited to join the family.
