Kids beer and candy flavoured vodka shots.

From the nutty products department: in Japan, they have just released a Kids beer. Yep, it looks like beer, foams like beer and is sold in dark beer label style bottles - but it's just a guarana based soft drink for more "festive" occasions where the kids might want to pretend they can drink beer too. It's called Kids Beer! Of course. See this Japantimes article.

Meanwhile in Denmark, the candy flavoured vodkas have been the target for criticism as the colorful lables might entice kids to drink them. Consumer minister Lars Barfoed (Lars Barefoot!) reckons that Toms Turtle Rum, and other brands such as Gajol and Spunk shouldn't be connected to alcohol as the brands are wellknown by children, and might tempt them to try the drinks.
Tom skildpadde (Toms turtle) is a filled candy a bit like a Cadbury's egg, Toms decided to discontinue their super sweet Toms Skildpadde Liquor, while simply changing the labels of the Gajol flavoured vodkas. Jesper Møller, CEO of Toms candy said: "It's been common knowledge for decades that Gajol is a product aimed at adults. But to remove any doubts we will change the label design for the bottles of Ga-Jol Vodka Shot so that there will be no mistake in the fact that this is a vodka product for adults."
The Spunk Vodka Shot was already discontinued in 2004. Bummer. Hat tip to Megan for the Japanese kids beer link.
