Music Supervisor Jonathan Hecht Launches Venn Arts

Multidisciplinary Music Supervisor Jonathan Hecht is pleased to announce the launch of Venn Arts. Brooklyn-based Venn Arts specializes in the creative practice of licensing songs and procuring artists/bands for a broad range of commercial projects. The company has deep expertise in helping content producers and marketers find the right music that adds value to their brand and depth to their creative.

With over a decade of experience on the agency, record label, and talent sides of the business, Hecht offers tremendous competitive advantages to clients through his strong relationships with the music industry and his ability to provide thoughtful guidance at every step of the creative and editorial process.

Jonathan’s diverse resume includes positions at Tribal Brands, Red Light Management, EMI Music, and Sony Music as well as consulting assignments at top agencies including mcgarrybowen, Carmichael Lynch, MODCo Creative, and in-house creative teams at Free People and ShoeDazzle | JustFab.

Recent projects of note include the Joe Fresh Spring 2015 campaign starring supermodel Karlie Kloss, “The Fall” spot with James Franco to launch Droid Turbo for Verizon Wireless, and the Subaru XV Crosstrek spot “Fountain.”

“The impetus for launching Venn Arts is really to collaborate closely with creative partners who are similarly dedicated to producing compelling work with an inspired and memorable soundtrack. There’s nothing else I’d rather being doing,” says Hecht.

To help introduce the company and highlight the firm’s thinking and process to the world at large, Venn Arts partnered with design studio PlayLab, Inc. to create “Soundtrack: When A Dude Gets Dumped By His Waitress At A Diner,” an animated short with a five-song soundtrack curated by Hecht. The video’s aim is to simply demonstrate how music can express nuanced emotion and enrich a story when thoughtfully paired with a creative idea.
