Branded Culture on European Stamps

adidas on a sleigh

Just read at European Stamps about a "sneaky" advertising on Dutch stamps.

“Stamp no. 20 (in the right corner below) features a little boy on a sleigh wearing shoes with the famous Adidas logo: three vertical, slanting stripes.” And indeed, it doesn’t require a loupe to see that one could speak of clandestine advertising on the reduced-fare stamp concerned.

PR? Proven advertising ROI? Just coincidence? Or maybe just Jung's collective unconscious in action? Mysteries.
